SEC Releases Opponents for 2019-2020 Basketball Season
Last year, we learned of the 2018-2019 SEC opponents for Auburn on June 6th. The SEC was about a week earlier this year.
The SEC released the opponents Wednesday afternoon for the upcoming basketball season and Auburn will get a star studded group of teams visiting the Plains next year.

As usual, the Tigers will play home and homes with Alabama, Georgia and Ole Miss. The other two home and homes is where things get fun.
Auburn will play Kentucky in a home and home series for the 2nd straight year and next year will mark the 3rd straight year that the Wildcats visit Auburn. Auburn will also play Tennessee twice next season and the Vols will, like Auburn, be replacing their Top 3 scorers from last year’s team.
Teams that Auburn will only face at home are LSU, South Carolina, Texas A&M and Vanderbilt.
Auburn will not host Arkansas, Florida, Mississippi State or Missouri next year, but play them on the road.

A couple of noteworthy things at first glance:
First, Auburn gets LSU at home, which is huge as the Bayou Bengals bring back all but Tremont Waters and Naz Reid while adding Birmingham native Trendon Watford to the team.
Also, getting Kentucky to come back to Auburn next year is a huge plus for the fanbase as those games always bring great anticipation for the team as well as the fans. I honestly wasn’t sure that the Tigers would get Kentucky at home again this year so this is great for Auburn. Getting to play them twice again is a bonus (or a curse) depending on how you choose to look at it.
Auburn avoids going to Vandy, which until last year’s 64-53 win had been a house of horrors for the Tigers. Auburn also avoids South Carolina which has been one of Auburn’s recent house of horrors the last 2 years.
We are 160 days away from the tip-off of College Basketball season. I can’t wait to get it started again. War Eagle!
