Auburn commit Richard Jibunor arrested on 2 charges, including DUI

Auburn commit Richard Jibunor was arrested early Sunday morning and is facing charges of driving under the influence and failing to maintain lane/improper driving on a road.

Jibunor, a four-star outside linebacker from Athens, Ga., was arrested at 4:38 a.m. in Clarke County, Ga., according to Athens-Clarke County arrest records. The arrest was first reported by the Auburn Plainsman.

He was released from custody at 7:18 a.m. on $2,000 bond -- $1,500 for the DUI charge and $500 for the improper driving charge.

Jibunor, a Nigerian native who moved to Athens, committed to Auburn on Thanksgiving and was expected to be among the Tigers' early signees during the early signing period in December. However, Jibunor did not sign due to a miscommunication and will instead sign on National signing Day in February.

Jibunor, who is projected to play Buck defensive end at Auburn, is rated as the No. 13 athlete in the class of 2018, the No. 32 player in the state of Georgia and the 293rd-best prospect in the nation.

Jibunor took to Twitter on Sunday afternoon following his arrest.
