SEC trying to reclaim football supremacy after title drought (The Associated Press)

The Southeastern Conference is the unquestioned king of college football leagues. As usual, this season the SEC has no shortage of solid candidates to crack the four-team College Football Playoffs, including Alabama despite an unsettled quarterback situation. It's still hard to argue against the top-to-bottom strength of a league where Mississippi State is picked to finish last in the SEC West a year after spending five weeks ranked No. 1 in the land.
