The Leak: Akron Week

As the resident investigative reporter for this web page, I need to be completely transparent. I don’t know what to make of the content I am about to share with you. One of my oldest sources— sorry, sAUrces—has begun leaking to me screenshots of text message conversations with someone he swears is deep inside the Auburn football program. Some of these are fairly innocuous:

some are more troubling

Some are downright weird

To be honest, that last one gives me the most pause. Like, was he setting up this cheesy joke the whole time. I have more questions than answers, Tiger fans. Who is “Bry Guy” and what kind of person has someone in their phone as a nickname? I don’t like the implication that whoever this person is hasn’t been focused much on Akron, either. It’s troubling. This is the first game of the Harsin era and Auburn needs to make a statement after one of the weirdest offseasons in memory. The main thing we need to do is to make sure we are on the same page, united as one fanbase and program. In a world with so much division, maybe this football season can be the start to finding ways to reach across the things that bring us apart.

Yikes.

Let’s just get to 1-0 and see how we feel, I guess.
