Do it all playmaker from Humble, TX decides to stick with the Tigers.
3-star TE Landen King was one of the three Auburn commits I was keeping a close eye on today. He had not explicitly stated whether or not he would sign early or even if he would stick with the Tigers.
Turns out he will.
A do it all playmaker out of Humble, TX, King was a big time flip for Auburn over the summer from the instate Longhorns. He played all over the field for his high school program Atascocita including even taking carries at running back. He fit the mold of the do it all TE former Auburn offensive coordinator coveted in his offense. Even without Morris, most likely, not running the offense next season, King’s versatility gives him a great chance at finding a home in whichever offense Auburn runs next season.
Welcome to The Plains, @Landen_King3!

AUNerd Scouting Report
King is a long, versatile athlete who fits the new mold Chad Morris wants at the 3 position in his offense. Possessing outstanding hands and great hops, King excels as a redzone target in jump ball situations. His high school team uses him all over the field lining him up as a traditional H-Back one snap then isolating him on the perimeter the next. He will need to bulk up some to be effective as an inline blocker at the next level but it’s hard not to be excited about his athletic upside. King fits more in the mold of Sal Cannella or Tyler Fromm so don’t be surprised if he gets some work at the 5 or “Big Slot” position too.
War Eagle Landen!
