Remember, Auburn played a 2 for 1 with the Chanticleers with the Tigers hosting them in 2014 and 2016 while playing in Conway, South Carolina in 2015. The Chanticleers won the first game of the series, and we featured it on Day 1 of the series with 50 days to tip-off as K.T. Harrell went for 25 in a 58-54 loss to CCU. This game was the rubber match as Auburn had won in Conway the previous season.

This game wasn’t close.

Danjel was 9-14 from the field, 5-10 from 3-point range, and made all 4 of his free throw attempts. He also had 7 rebounds and 3 steals in this one.

Purifoy got on the board with a jumper 5 minutes into the game. He made Auburn’s next two shots, one of those a 3-pointer. The Chanticleers trailed by 3, 25-22, with 7 minutes left in the half but then Auburn broke the game wide open. Auburn went on a 23-0 run in the next 5 minutes to build a 48-22 lead. Purifoy added 7 more points to his total during that run with a 3-pointer and his free throws. After the Chanticleers finally scored, Purifoy hit his 3rd 3-pointer of the half to end the 1st half with 17 points and Auburn led 56-27 at halftime.

Danjel’s first 2 shots of the 2nd half were good 3-pointers and then he hit another jumper to put Auburn up 33. His final points of the night came on a dunk off a nice pass from Mustapha Heron to put Auburn up 99-55 with 6 minutes as the Tigers would score their season high in this contest.
