Drain the Green Wave! (Auburn vs. Tulane, Open Thread.)

An opener tougher than expected?

War Eagle, everybody! Today marks the 2019 home opener for the Auburn Tigers. Making the trip up from New Orleans, Louisiana to play the tigers tonight are the Tulane Green Wave. When this game was scheduled, Auburn was looking for an easy non-conference game. That may not be the case, as Tulane looked really good in their opener against Florida International, 42-14. For the Green Wave, this is a big payday, and a chance to possibly pull off the upset.

This game will kick off at 6:30 PM Central Time, and will be televised on ESPN 2. For those attending this game, expect another toasty September evening, with highs around 90 at kickoff, down to about 80 when this one is done. A waxing gibbous moon will be high above the south end of Jordan Hare Stadium, flanked by the planets Saturn and Jupiter to either side.

As always, feel free to join in and enjoy this thread. I will at the keyboard for my usual play by play, armed with a cool evening drink, and some delicacies such as lightly steamed oysters, and other badness. This won’t be an all-day football watching event, but I will try to check in by 2 or 3 in the afternoon. War Eagle! And beat Tulane!
