34 Days to Kickoff! - Anthony Mix

Another part of the Tuberville run of receivers!

As we continue our march to kickoff, we take a look at the top 100 recruits to sign with Auburn of all-time*. The rankings are based on 247’s composite recruit rankings, which unfortunately only date back to 2000.

THE RECRUIT

Hailing from the Mobile area, Anthony Mix was a huge prep football star who played many different positions in high school. He excelled at quarterback, defensive end, and wide receiver and committed to play for Tommy Tuberville after a successful three-sport high school career.

THE PLAYER

Once he got to Auburn, he took a redshirt year in 2001, but as a freshman in 2002, he was an immediate impact player. Placing at both receiver and tight end, he was able to make catches in 8 games, including a 46-yard catch early in the Iron Bowl in Tuscaloosa that season.

His game against Mississippi State in 2004 became his career outing, with 76 yards and 2 touchdowns, but he was a solid option for Jason Campbell and Brandon Cox over his final three seasons. He was also a solid target for one, Cadillac Williams.

Mix found a spot with the New York Giants after he concluded his time at Auburn, but was only able to snag 3 catches for 39 yards in 9 career games. He finished his career in the NFL after being released by Tampa Bay in 2009.
