Episode 50: Remembering Rod Bramblett
It’s a bittersweet time for the Orange and True Podcast here on College and Magnolia —
On one hand, we’re celebrating a birthday. It’s been a year since Crow, Ryan, and Chief began telling you about Star Wars, European soccer, chicken fingers, and a smidgen of Auburn athletics. We’d love to hear about things you liked (not We’ve Got Jared), and what you didn’t like. Any opportunity to get better in Year #2 is one that we’d all welcome!
On the other hand, today’s episode comes with a heavy heart. Rod and Paula Bramblett’s funeral services come today at Auburn Arena after they were both killed in a car wreck this past weekend. Like Crow says off the top, the church of Auburn lost its pastor with Rod going, and much of the vocabulary that we used in relation to the Tigers goes with him.
It’s a tough time for the Auburn Family in general, so listen to today’s episode and gain some strength from the memories that the guys share. Don’t worry, we’re talking Rod’s favorite subject — Auburn baseball. The Tigers get ready for Regional action in Atlanta tomorrow, and we know that Rod wouldn’t have it any other way. He’d tell us to get on with all the fuss and start focusing on what Butch and the boys have to do to advance to the Supers for another year.
