The semi-early start and the weird close-to-Christmas gameday kept me from thinking too much about the game before it started. That said, the nerves hit quick that morning. It only took about 4 minutes for those to go away. You can tell I tweet more when the game is over by the 2nd quarter. It was a fun day. A good day to interact with all the Auburn folks out there. Didn’t hear once from those other folks though. It was kinda weird. Follow me.

Auburn, specifically Gus Malzahn, is getting back to basics. Purdue is just the first team in the way. #wareagle

It’s like Total Recall up in here because we got 3 Boobee TDs in less than 8 minutes. #auburn #wareagle

Auburn has tied the Music City Bowl scoring record (49) with 5:36 left… in the 1st half. #wareagle

Gus calling timeout to try and score one more time before half after that 2nd Purdue unsportsmanlike is the stuff dreams are made of. #wareagle

Auburn has set the Music City Bowl scoring record (56) with 2 minutes left… in the 1st half. #wareagle

Purdue is mad. They are fighting. #auburn #wareagle

Auburn’s 56 points are the most scored in the 1st half of any bowl game all-time ever, forever and ever, amen. #wareagle

Auburn’s 1st half…
397 yards
56 points
4 passing touchdowns
3 rushing touchdowns
2 interceptions
1 pick six
…and a partridge in a pear tree. #wareagle #MusicCityBowl— WarBlogle.com (@WarBlogle) December 28, 2018
There’s a Ryan Davis touchdown. I think at this point it’s feasible to start figuring out how to get every senior a touchdown before the game is over. #auburn #wareagle
— WarBlogle.com (@WarBlogle) December 28, 2018
Auburn has now set the SEC scoring record for bowl games, overtaking Alabama’s 61 points that stood for 65 years. Take that Tide! #wareagle

I’m probably overthinking it, but I’ve been trying to figure out what the hole is in the football of the Music City Bowl logo. I’ve decided it’s the hole of an acoustic guitar. Am I right? pic.twitter.com/KCYu0CG0FT

Purdue has scored two touchdowns today. Both drives included pass interference calls that extended the drives. The last one was trash. #auburn #wareagle

I’m here for Gus calling a pass play and yelling at Gatewood like he didn’t at this point of the game. #auburn #wareagle
— WarBlogle.com (@WarBlogle) December 28, 2018
That was a touchdown.
— WarBlogle.com (@WarBlogle) December 28, 2018
That was a touchdown, too.

It’s not running up the score if you have a chance to tie or break a scoring record. Especially with a 3rd-string QB and walk-on RB in the game. #auburn #wareagle
— WarBlogle.com (@WarBlogle) December 28, 2018
It wouldn’t be a 2018 Auburn football game if officials didn’t screw up a goal-line call. #wareagle

Auburn beats Purdue 63-14 in the 2018 @MusicCityBowl. #wareagle
— WarBlogle.com (@WarBlogle) December 28, 2018
In case you were wondering… after today’s results, it is obvious that Auburn would beat Ohio State by 78 points. It is simple mathematics. #wareagle
Purdue 49, Ohio State 20
Auburn 63, Purdue 14— WarBlogle.com (@WarBlogle) December 28, 2018
Anders Carlson did not attempt a field goal today, but he did score 9 points. #wareagle
— WarBlogle.com (@WarBlogle) December 28, 2018
These annnouncers did not understand Auburn going for it on 4th down inside the 20 late in the game. At that point, kicking a field goal IS running up the score. #wareagle

This is a cool record broken today (from @AuburnFootball): Darius Slayton’s 74-yard touchdown catch from Stidham is the longest TD reception by Auburn in a bowl game (previous best: 73, Bo Jackson from Pat Washington/1986 Cotton). #wareagle

It’s nasty outside and the students aren’t in town, but Toomer’s has been slightly rolled following Auburn’s 63-14 win over Purdue in the 2018 @MusicCityBowl. #wareagle pic.twitter.com/N9lA5CZvTU

After all those Boilermaker unsportsmanlike conduct penalties, I was thinking more like Perude! #auburn #wareagle
— WarBlogle.com (@WarBlogle) December 28, 2018
Gus Malzahn is 2-4 in bowl games. 1 of the 4 was a last minute loss in the NCG. 1 of the four was a Daniel Carlson missed FG in OT vs Wisconsin. 1 of the 4 was to Baker Mayfield’s Oklahoma in the Sugar Bowl. 1 of the 4 was to a still undefeated team happy with the Peach Bowl.
