Auburn in the NFL - Week 11

Kickers?? Kickers.

While Auburn players from all positions certainly had a fine time this weekend, there are no more high profile performances than the ones from very special teams guys around the league.

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 18th

DETROIT 20, CAROLINA 19

Panthers - Cam Newton (QB) had a pretty solid day overall, but missed an easy pass on a two-point conversion for the win. He went 25-37 for 357 yards, 3 touchdowns, 1 interception, and ran twice for 2 yards. Cameron Artis-Payne also had a single carry for 1 yard.

Lions - Kerryon Johnson (RB) left the game late with a leg injury, but he was the Detroit offense for the time he was healthy. He scored their opening touchdown, and ran 15 times for 87 yards and that score before leaving the game.

INDIANAPOLIS 38, TENNESSEE 10

Colts - Braden Smith (RT) once again helped Indy roll to a huge offensive day (397 total yards) and helped keep Andrew Luck clean by allowing zero sacks.

HOUSTON 23, WASHINGTON 21

Texans - Angelo Blackson (DT) finished with a single tackle in the win.

NEW YORK GIANTS 38, TAMPA BAY 35

Buccaneers - Peyton Barber (RB) scored the first of three fourth-quarter touchdowns for Tampa in a furious comeback attempt, and ran 18 times for 106 yards and that touchdown in the close loss. Carlton Davis (CB) added three tackles for the Tampa defense.

OAKLAND 23, ARIZONA 21

Raiders - Daniel Carlson (K) scored all of Oakland’s second half points, going 3-3 on field goals, including the game winner.

Cardinals - Josh Bynes (LB) had a great game at linebacker for Arizona with 8 tackles, 1 TFL, and a pass deflection as well in the close loss.

CHICAGO 25, MINNESOTA 20

Bears - Cody Parkey (K) went 3-3 on field goals in the win, and his final kick put the game out of reach for the Vikings. He and Carlson also each won Special Teams Player of the Week for their respective conferences.

Not bad for a couple of guys who’ve had some tough times this season.

MONDAY, NOVEMBER 19th

LOS ANGELES RAMS 54, KANSAS CITY 51

Rams - Blake Countess (DB) made one tackle in the win.

Chiefs - Dee Ford (LB) made two tackles and forced a fumble in the close loss.
