Mangle Mississippi! (Auburn at Ole Miss, Open Thread.)

Tigers must take care of the football, this morning!

War Eagle, everybody! This morning, the Auburn Tigers visit Oxford, Mississippi to take on the Ole Miss rebels in an important SEC battle. Auburn looks to avoid having the first 3-game losing streak in the Gus Malzahn era, and desperately needs a win to become bowl-eligible.

This game will kick off at 11:00 AM, Central Time, on ESPN. Lots of eyes will be watching this one, on the main channel of the cable giant. Fortunately for Auburn, Oxford has not proved to be too tough a venue for Auburn in the modern era. In my lifetime, Auburn has a record of 11-3 in that fair city. The losses all came in losing seasons for Auburn, in 1992, 2008 and 2012.

At kickoff for this one, temperatures should be around 60F, rising to the mid-60s when this one ends around 2:30 PM. There is a slight chance for an early shower in this one, but the sky should be clearing as the game progresses.

As always, feel free to join in and enjoy this thread. I will at the keyboard for my usual play by play, and I’ll hope to pull my Tigers through this pivotal contest. War Eagle, and let’s beat those Rebel Landsharks!
