The first College Football Playoff rankings came out this week and the Auburn Tigers debuted at No. 14. Standing in their way of climbing into the Top 10 is a very dangerous Texas A&M team. And Auburn will be facing the Aggies in an early morning kickoff  at Kyle field in College Station.

Sometimes it’s hard to get going in those 11 a.m. games but the Tigers can’t afford a slow start. They need to come out smoking and take the 12th man out of the game before they can get revved up good.

This game as so often is the case will set the tone for how both of these teams may finish out the season. As Cole Locascio said in his article Wednesday Auburn needs to win two of the last three SEC match ups to have a good season. A ‘W’ on Saturday will make the Orange and Blue 7-2 heading into Georgia week.

An early season Top 10 team, the Aggies have taken some lumps in recent weeks and are no longer ranked. Still, they must be respected since they are paying at home and have earned a good enough record to qualify for the post season.

Those attending the game will have to deal with Indian summer conditions with temps around 90 degrees. For those who will watch the game on television, we have prepared a broadcast schedule of all games leading up to and after Auburn’s game with TAMU. Game times are Central Standard, and all SEC games as well as those involving top 25 teams are underlined. Games on ESPN/ABC can be viewed by clicking here and games on ESPN3 can be viewed by clicking on this link.

Acid Reign will have an open thread up Saturday morning. So please check back and add your thoughts about the game as it unfolds. War Eagle and …
