Assault the Aggies! (Auburn at Texas A&M, Open Thread.)

Aggie Thread

The 12th Man Awaits.

War Eagle, everybody! The Auburn football season continues this morning, with a visit to College Station, Texas. The Auburn Tigers will take on the Texas A&M Aggies, in an important SEC Western Division matchup. For the Aggies, it is a chance to redeem themselves, a week after getting blown out at home by Mississippi State. For Auburn, this game can set up a championship run if Auburn wins it. A loss would likely herald a slide into mediocrity. This game will kick off at 11:00 AM Central Daylight Time, and it will be televised on ESPN.

If pundits are to be believed, the head coaches in this game are fighting for their jobs. I’ve seen it opined that there is no way Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn survives this November without winning at least 1, and probably 2 of the 3 remaining SEC games. I have also seen it in print that the handwriting is also on the wall regarding Aggie coach Kevin Sumlin, and that the 35-14 loss to Mississippi State last weekend was the last straw. I expect Texas A&M to come out firing in this game, with really nothing to lose. With 2 SEC losses already, the Aggies are pretty much out of the division race.

It may be November, but it will feel more like May or June to those attending the game. The temperature at kickoff should be at 80 degrees, and the temp will rise as the game progresses, to the mid to upper 80. At least partial cloud cover is expected, and the amount of heat will depend upon available sunshine.

As always, feel free to join in and enjoy this thread. I will at the keyboard for my usual play by play, this morning. War Eagle, and let’s see if Auburn continue a championship run against Texas A&M!
