News and notes from the Auburn corners of the Internet
BASKETBALL
The usual offseason attrition from the basketball team has claimed it's first - and, I hope, only - victim as T.J. Lang has announced that he intends to transfer and finish his playing career elsewhere. He'll have to sit out a year if he doesn't drop down a division, as he's not a grad transfer.
EQUESTRIAN
Some of the Tigers' rides have earned monthly SEC honors. They're preparing for the SEC Championships this weekend as Auburn.
GOLF
Senior Matt Gilchrest was named one of five finalists for the prestigious Byron Nelson Award.
SOFTBALL
Kasey Cooper and the 4th ranked Tigers are comfortable and ready to take on #2 Florida in Gainesville, this weekend.
FOOTBALL
Marlon Davidson is "staying humble" in his second season on the Plains. He's said he never really truly felt like he belonged as the starter on the defensive line as a true freshman.
How is Byron Cowart doing in his move to defensive tackle? His fellow defensive linemen say he has "that swag about him." Hopefully, Byron can really turn it up this year. He's a genuinely nice guy from the time I've met him and he has a lot of natural talent.
Auburn continues to evaluate and recruit a young receiver from Hoover named Shedrick Jackson. Perhaps you've heard of his uncle, Vincent Jackson.
