Auburn Wins Eight Straight

22328332-mmmain

Ever since I wrote about my concerns regarding midweek baseball games, Auburn has begun to ease those worries. The Tigers went on the road on Tuesday night to face an always dangerous Georgia Tech team, and came out on top, 7-4.

Tuesday night’s victory marked Auburn’s eighth consecutive win coming off of its weekend sweep against Florida. The Tigers put 11 hits on the board in last night’s game, six of which were doubles.

Christian Camacho was on the mound for the Tigers, as he allowed just one run in 4 1/3 innings. Calvin Coker was credited for the win after getting the last two outs in the fifth inning, and Cole Lipscomb earned his fourth save of the year with a 1-2-3 ninth inning. Auburn is fortunate to have only given up four runs though, as the Yellow Jackets hit three home runs in the game.

Leading the Tigers in the hits column were Jonah Todd, Daniel Robert, Conor Davis and Will Holland with two hits for each. No home runs for the Tigers last night, but they weren’t needed, as the six doubles of the evening — a season high — were enough to get the win.

Auburn heads to Athens this weekend to take on a Georgia team that was swept against LSU last weekend. It’s important for the Tigers to further strengthen their SEC record with a very winnable series on hand this weekend.
