Work Over the Wolves!

arky-state-thread

They certainly got worked over, last Saturday by Toledo!
Auburn vs. Arkansas State, Open Thread.

War Eagle, everybody! Tonight, the Auburn Tigers will host the Arkansas State Red Wolves, in Jordan Hare Stadium. Both teams come in limping at 0-1, having lost a week ago. Auburn lost a close, but winnable game against Clemson, the defending ACC champion. Arkansas State lost 31-10 to Toledo, one of the better teams in the Mid America Conference. Toledo finished 10-2 a year ago, with wins over ranked Arkansas and Temple teams. This game kicks off at 6:30 Central Time, and will be televised on the SEC Network.

Arkansas State is the defending Sun Belt Champion. The Red Wolves got off to a tough, 1-3 start last season, with losses to Southern Cal, Missouri and Toledo, before tuning things up and running the table in their league. After the loss to Toledo, Arkansas did not score less than 37 points till a loss in the New Orleans bowl to La. Tech, 47-28.

Another fine football evening is in the offing, at Auburn. It will still be daylight at kickoff, and the temperature should be around 85 degrees. It won’t feel that hot, though, thanks to rare, dry continental air that has sneaked into the state on the back side of tropical storm Hermine. By game’s end, the mercury should be in the low 70s. There is no chance of rain.

As always, feel free to join in and enjoy this thread. I’ll be here this evening with a play by play, and some fired-up commentary. War Eagle, and beat Arkansas State!
