Auburn Football Recruiting: Official Visit Schedule Taking Shape

The return of on campus visits is quickly approaching.

While nothing official has been released by the NCAA, industry consensus is that the current dead period will not be extended past May 31st and programs will once again be able to host recruits on campus. As such, many programs, including Auburn, are preparing for a return to the world of official visits. Over the past couple of weeks, a number of top Auburn targets have locked in their official visit dates with many others noting they are in the process of setting theirs up.

Here’s a rundown on who is set to make the trip to the Plains once the current dead period ends. I fully expect more names to be added to this list in the coming weeks.

June 4-6

4-star WR Darrius Clemons | 6’3” | 205 lbs | Portland, OR

This might be the most important name on this list. Clemons is one of the top wide receivers in this class possessing the always desired combo of elite size and speed. He’s close with Auburn’s new coaching staff, specifically head coach Bryan Harsin and recruiting coordinator Darren Uscher, who have been recruiting the talented playmaker since their time at Boise State.

Now they are hoping to convince the nation’s #18 ranked wideout to make the same trek across the country to Auburn, AL. It sounds like the Tigers have a legitimate chance in this race as Clemons doesn’t appear to be concerned about distance from home. He’s set to also take official visits to USC, Penn State, and Michigan though it’s the instate Ducks that are considered the team to beat at the moment. But Auburn will have an opportunity to make a major move in early June.

3-star DT Maxie Baudoin IV | 6’3” | 290 lbs | Lafayette, LA

Baudoin has exploded onto the recruiting scene in recent months landing offers from Auburn, Georgia, Texas A&M, Tennessee, USC and plenty of others. The Tigers though have emerged as one of the top contenders as the Louisiana native has hit it off with new Auburn DL coach Nick Eason. A decision could come this summer and you have to think Auburn is one of the top contenders. Though as always when it comes to Louisiana kids, keep an eye out for LSU. If they decide to make a move it could get interesting.

June 11-13

4-star TE Micah Riley-Ducker | 6’6” | 235 lbs | Bellevue, NE

Riley-Ducker has very quickly emerged as one of Auburn’s top tight end targets. The Bellevue West standout has already been to the Plains on his own dime but is now set to return for an official visit. He’s also expected to take OVs to Iowa, Iowa State, and Tennessee. It also wouldn’t surprise me if he used his last visit for a trip to Madison, WI.

The competition is fierce for Riley-Ducker especially considering some of his top schools include programs known for their tight end production. But the Tigers are hoping to convince the nation’s #16 ranked tight end that the often promised emergence of the tight end in Auburn’s offense has finally arrived. Keep a close eye though on those Iowa programs.

3-star QB Holden Geriner | 6’3” | 210 lbs | Savannah, GA

Auburn’s QB commit will be on campus the same time as Riley-Ducker. The 6’3” 210 gunslinger has been tearing up the camp circuit lending more credence to Bryan Harsin and Mike Bobo’s elite QB evaluation reputations. He’s also emerged as Auburn’s most active and vocal recruiter in the 2022 class. I suspect he’ll be in Riley-Ducker’s ear all weekend long.

3-star LB Omar Graham Jr. | 6’1” | 205 lbs | Fort Lauderdale, FL

Graham’s recruitment has gotten very interesting very quickly. The 3-star out of Fort Lauderdale landed an Auburn offer in March and very quickly shot to the top of the board for the Tigers. Despite his lower rating, big time offers continue to roll in including Michigan, NC State, and Louisville. He told AuburnUndercover’s Keith Niebuhr that he also expects to also take official visits to Indiana, Miami, Michigan, and UCF.

June 18-20

3-star WR Jay Fair | 5’11” | 182 lbs | Rockwall, TX

You will be hard pressed to find many players in this class quicker than Fair. That combination of speed and agility has made him a priority target for a number of top programs including the Tigers. So far, Fair has only set up official visits with Auburn and TCU but don’t be surprised if he takes trips to Florida and Texas A&M as well. Auburn’s offense is set to feature more prototypical slot wideouts moving forward and Fair is the perfect fit for that position. There’s also a family tie per AuburnUndercover’s Keith Niebuhr as Fair is cousins with current Auburn defensive lineman Daniel Foster-Allen. Look for the Tigers to push hard to land the explosive Texan playmaker.

June 25-27

4-star DL Quency Wiggins | 6’6” | 265 lbs | Baton Rouge, LA

Wiggins is one of my favorite DL prospects in this class. He’s an incredible two sport athlete who has the versatility needed to play up front in Auburn’s new multiple defensive scheme. I think he’s got a chance to be a top 100 player in this class before the cycle is over.

Auburn’s coaching staff seems to agree as they have made the Louisiana native a top priority. However, getting him out of the boot will be difficult as the instate Tigers are also making a push and they tend to win more than they lose for Louisiana kids they want. Still, Auburn has a fighting chance in this recruitment and this official visit will be a big chance for Auburn’s new staff to win over one of the fastest rising players in the 2022 class.
