Disappointing but not a surprise
This isn’t a surprise but disappointing nonetheless.

Auburn was considered the team to beat heading into the early signing period but Gus Malzahn’s firing changed things for the Georgia native. He elected to wait until February before making a decision in order to see if Travis Williams would be retained. There was some hope that even without T-WILL on staff, Auburn could still land the blue chip. That hope quickly faded following news Travis would no longer be on staff.
The Tigers though should be fine as they landed 3-star LB Joko Willis earlier this week. With a lot of LB talent in the 2022 class, expect Auburn’s new coaching staff to sign a big class next cycle.
