Isaac Okoro vs Anthony Edwards was the storyline coming in but this game turned out to be no contest.

Going into this game, there was quite a buzz nationally as 2 very likely lottery picks were set to face off inside Auburn Arena in Isaac Okoro and Georgia’s Anthony Edwards.
As we would see quite often during SEC play, Auburn would get off to a slow start, scoring just 6 points in the first 7 1⁄2 minutes as Georgia led 14-6.
But Anfernee McLemore would start a 12-2 run with a dunk that would also get the Jungle going.
Samir Doughty would cap off the run with a tough bucket in the paint to give Auburn its first lead of the day.

One of the biggest takeaways from this game was the play of Auburn’s role players: especially Jamal Johnson and Allen Flanigan, two guys who look to have a bigger impact on this year’s team.
First up, Johnson’s 3 would put Auburn up 4.
Shoutout to Jamal Johnson! He hadn’t scored in his first 2 SEC games but got rewarded for his hustle here in saving a possession for Auburn and doing what he does best: hitting 3s. Getting bench production will be key for Auburn going forward. pic.twitter.com/QHaXyYhuQn

Allen Flanigan would double Auburn’s lead to 8 after a 3 on the next possession and a layup with 3:32 to go. A 3 from Samir would put Auburn ahead 31-20 and Flanigan wasn’t done (but what an assist from Okoro):
Also, shotout to Allen Flanigan! He had a career high 12 points (it was 8) and doubled his career 3-pointers from 2 to 4 Saturday. But this was just excellent from both Okoro and Flanigan as Allen gets the basket late in the 1st half. Like Johnson, great to see this! pic.twitter.com/78POvYl36T

This capped off a 16-1 Auburn run and the Tigers took a 35-24 lead into the locker behind bench production and fantastic defense holding the Bulldogs to 32% shooting (8-25) and star player Anthony Edwards to just 3 points. Georgia scored 12 points in the games first 5 minutes and just 12 the rest of the half.
Auburn would continue to build their lead in the 2nd half and midway through the 2nd half, this game became a dunk contest for Auburn. The Tigers had 3 easy dunks on consecutive possessions but my favorite one came from Danjel Purifoy as his tomahawk jam with 8 minutes to go put Auburn ahead 65-42.
There were a lot of dunks to choose from but I went with Danjel’s dunk for this game. pic.twitter.com/p74lZNNezF

As for Edwards, he would score 15 of his 18 points in the 2nd half, but most of them came with the game already decided. Isaac Okoro only scored 7 in this game but had 3 blocked shots and he and others did a great job at slowing down Edwards on the defensive side.
Auburn was able to get the bench in late in this one as the Tigers were never threatened in the 2nd half. And at the end of this one: a glimpse into the future for Auburn:

Samir Doughty had 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Allen Flanigan and Anfernee McLemore each had 12 points and 6 rebounds. Flanigan’s 12 points were a career high and he did it on 5-6 shooting while McLemore was 6-8 from the field. J’Von McCormick had 9 points, Austin Wiley had 8 points and 7 rebounds and Danjel Purifoy had 7 points and 8 rebounds.
