Cardwell becomes the 5th member of Auburn’s phenomenal recruiting class.
Sometimes patience really does pay off.
After months of speculation and waiting patiently on an offer to come from Auburn, the offer finally came for Dylan Cardwell and the big man decided to become the 5th member of Auburn’s history making recruiting class on Thursday.
Cardwell is yet another product of the AOT AAU team that has given Auburn Isaac Okoro, Sharife Cooper and Stretch Akingbola over the past 2 years. He visited frequently in an unofficial capacity with Sharife Cooper throughout the season including being on hand for the Georgia game back on January 11th.
At 6’10” 220 pounds, Cardwell provides the Tigers with another big body to go into a frontcourt that will lack for collegiate experience but certainly won’t lack for talent.

He’s certainly been on the receiving end of plenty of lobs from Sharife Cooper in the past and will continue to do so at Auburn going forward.
Cardwell didn’t play for McEachern High School this year after having to sitting out due to issues regarding transferring there from Oak Hill Academy. Still, he was a model teammate and got a front row seat to watch his buddy and now high school/college teammate Sharife Cooper put on a show his senior season of high school.
247 Sports has him as the 150th best player in the 2020 class, giving Auburn 4 Top 150 commits in the 2020 class.

Cardwell chose Auburn over Georgia, Connecticut, Tennessee, and Vanderbilt. With Cardwell’s addtion, Auburn has 1 scholarship left for the upcoming season.
