Tigers Sign 4-Star Tight End Brandon Frazier

Auburn all of a sudden has a bunch of really talented tight ends

Chad Morris had very little impact on this 2020 class. When he was hired, most of the work was already done. That meant he would only have 1 maybe 2 spots to play with in the late period. He immediately made 4* TE Brandon Frazier a top priority.

Frazier committed to Arkansas last May but reopened things after Morris was let go. Texas Tech immediately became a major player in his recruitment even hosting him on an official visit in December. But once hired by Malzahn, Chad Morris got to work recruiting his former commit to the Plains. Frazier took an official visit to the Plains in mid January and it was enough to seal the deal for the Tigers. Today, he made things official.

This has a chance to be one of the more impactful pickups of the 2020 class. Yes, I know you are rolling your eyes because he’s a tight and GUS DON’T USE TIGHT ENDS NEEERRDDD. But Chad Morris does, specifically he prefers to use a tight end at the 3-back position over a fullback. If you watch Frazier’s tape, that’s exactly where he played for his high school program.

He’s a big kid at 6’5” 237 lbs with elite athleticism. You wouldn’t expect a kid this big to be so dangerous after the catch but he’s got surprising top end speed that makes him a threat to break a tackle and go. He’s also a solid blocker, especially in space. That long frame also makes him an ideal redzone/3rd & long target. While the competition will be fierce at this spot next season considering the amount of talent Auburn all of a sudden has at this position, I fully expect Frazier to carve out a role in this offense in 2020.

War Eagle Brandon!
