Tigers Officially Sign 4-Star Defensive Back Ladarius Tennison

Smallest prospect in Auburn’s 2020 class but possibly the most violent

4* Ladarius Tennison committed to Miami in early February but that pledge did not last long. He reopened things in April. Auburn from the very beginning made the Rockledge standout a priority having offered him in November of 2018. An official visit in July all but sealed things up for the Tigers and a week later he made his verbal pledge. Today, he made things official.

Size is often the starting point for team’s evaluations of prospects. Standing at 5’9”, Tennison does not have the frame you typically see in elite defensive backs. But turn on his tape and you quickly fall in love.

I am not sure there is a player in this class that pound for pound packs a stronger punch than Tennison. He’s violent on the backend of the defense, always looking to not only make the tackle but deliver a message in the process. He’s also lightning quick with elite top end speed. If he gets his hands on the ball, chances are good it will be six.

Auburn plans to play the south Florida athlete at the Star position (aka the Nickel) in Kevin Steele’s defense. It will be tough to see the field early at that spot with Christian Tutt, Jordyn Peters and Zion Puckett all returning but I wouldn’t be shocked if we at least saw Tennison decapitating return men next season. I got a sneaky feeling that by the end of his career, Tennison will be a fan favorite.

War Eagle Ladarius!
