BREAKING: Auburn to play in 2020 Orlando Invitational

Time to make your 2020 Thanksgiving Plans!

So earlier this week I noticed people wondering where Auburn would play in next season’s tournament and I tweeted the following Monday night.

Fresh off of winning the Legends Classic last night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, we learned this afternoon where Auburn will play their in-season tournament next year.

How does Disney sound for Thanksgiving everyone?

That’s right, mark your calendars and make your plans for Thanksgiving next year as Auburn will play in the 2020 Orlando Invitational November 27th, 28th and 30th at the Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. It will be the Tigers 1st time playing in the tournament.

The field put together for next year’s tournament is an extremely impressive one with some familiar teams from last year’s Maui Invitational joining Auburn in Orlando.

Xavier and Gonzaga, both fellow Maui Invitational participants from last year, will be in Orlando. Another headliner in this tournament is Michigan State who was the preseason #1 team this season but has lost twice already in November. These 3 teams along with Auburn were ranked in this year’s Preseason Top 25.

Also in the field are Saint Louis, who Auburn will face December 14th in Birmingham, mid-major power Belmont, the Mountain West’s Boise State, and the Siena Saints out of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC).

This is usually one of the better non-conference tournaments of Thanksgiving Week and it will also be a tournament that Auburn fans should have a much easier time getting to compared to Maui and Brooklyn the last 2 seasons.

Hey, hopefully the Orlando Magic will be home while Auburn is down there next year so you can not only see Bruce Pearl’s squad, but also watch Chuma Okeke play in the NBA. Either way, it’s awesome to see Auburn lined up to play in tournaments like this going forward.
