Tornado Relief Details

Tornadoes wrecked the Auburn area Sunday. Here’s how you can help.

Sunday was a dark day in the communities surrounding Auburn, Alabama. By now, you’ve heard about the carnage the tornadoes caused in Beauregard and Smith’s Station, just a few miles down the road from the university. I would be outside my depth to try and cover the events like a true reporter, so all I can do is say that the College and Magnolia staff mourns for those who passed from the storms and for the communities affected by these tragic events.

If you’d like to find a way to help or contribute to disaster relief, we’ve tried to compile a list here. If you know of any others, please let us know and we will add to our list.

Red Cross - Donate to Red Cross of East Alabama here.

LifeSouth/EAMC - LifeSouth (EAMC’s blood supplier) is asking for blood donations. Blood can be donated at 505 E Thomason Cir, Opelika, AL 36801.

Youth for Christ - The East Alabama chapter of Youth for Christ is taking donations out to first responders. They’re asking for diapers, water, formula, granola bars, and work gloves. They’re located at 1400 N College St, Auburn, AL.

Church of the Highlands/Auburn Dream Center - The Auburn Dream Center is collecting items including bottled water, granola bars, diapers, formula, baby wipes, and hygiene products. The ADC is at 1103 Donahue Drive, Auburn, AL.

Again, if you know of any other ways to help, please let us know and we will expand the list.
