Tame the Tarheels! (Auburn vs. North Carolina, Open Thread.)

Tigers must be ready to run, against this team.
(Rick Osentoski-USA TODAY Sports)

War Eagle, everybody! This evening marks Auburn’s third game in the 2019 NCAA basketball tournament. Auburn will drew a 5 seed in the midwest bracket, and will face the 1 seeded North Carolina Tarheels in Sprint Center in Kansas City, Missouri. This area is noted for hosting NCAA Basketball events. The winner of this game will move on to the Elite Eight.

Altitude won’t be an issue, this time around, as Kansas City is only about 900 feet above sea level. For comparison, Auburn arena is 653 feet above sea level, while the first round tournament games Auburn won, were played at over 4200 feet. The real issue in this game is that the Tarheels like to run and gun, just as much as Auburn does. I feel like hot shooting and limiting turnovers will be key, in this matchup.

This game tips off at 6:29 PM, Central Daylight Time, in Kansas City. It will be televised on the WTBS network. That’s channel 780 if you have a Charter/Spectrum box. Not sure about other TV providers. If you have to stream it, your best bet is March Madness Live. I will be here, running an open thread. This will not be a strict play-by-play, as there is no way I can type as fast as Auburn runs their offense! I will more be exclaiming on big plays, relating the score, and doing color commentary. War Eagle, and let’s smash those guys in the powder blue!
