Vanquish the Vols! (Auburn vs. Tennessee, Open Thread.)

Can Auburn bash Tennessee?

     War Eagle, everybody! This morning, the Auburn Tigers will host Tennessee, taking on the Volunteers in an important SEC battle. The loser of this game likely does not go to a bowl, and the winner gains confidence and renewed motivation to improve.

     This game will kick off at 11:00 AM, Central Time, which has not been a favorable time slot for Auburn, historically. Some of the worst poundings of the Auburn defense in my lifetime have come before noon, in these sorts of grainy, Jefferson Pilot, bleary-eyed time slots. Let’s hope that this is not the case today.

     At kickoff for this one, temperatures should be around 80F, rising to the mid-80s when this one ends around 2:30 PM. It should be mostly clear, with no chance of a shower. This game will be televised, on the SEC Network.

     As always, feel free to join in and enjoy this thread. I will at the keyboard for my usual play by play, and I’ll hope to pull my Tigers through this pivotal contest. War Eagle, and let’s beat those Volunteers!
