Auburn guard Mustapha Heron was named the SEC's Player of the Week, the league announced Monday morning.
Heron averaged 16.5 points and 5.5 rebounds during Auburn's two wins against No. 23 Tennessee and No. 22 Arkansas to open up SEC play and stretch the Tigers' win streak to a dozen games. The victories marked the program's first back-to-back wins against ranked SEC opponents since 1958.
During Auburn's road win against Tennessee, Heron had 15 points, five rebounds, two steals and an assist. He followed that up with a 17-point, six-rebound effort during the team's 88-77 win against Arkansas on Saturday.
Auburn was plus-19 with Heron on the court during those two games, upping his season +/- to plus-162.
