Link sAUsage: You Can Officially Say “Auburn Plays Next Month”

August 1, 2017

Auburn began fall camp yesterday afternoon, donning the helmets and shorts for Practice #1. Among the main stories for the day were Jarrett Stidham’s fall debut with the Tigers (spoiler alert: he worked with the first team a lot), the offensive line setup (we’ll know in a couple weeks), which wide receivers will become the starters, and who’s going to punt the dang ball.

There’s a ton to uncover from yesterday’s practice and the media session with Gus Malzahn afterward, so we won’t waste any more of your time.

From al.com, here are the basic practice observations you’ll need. In those notes include position changes, news on some formerly injured players, which guys worked with the first team, second team, etc. during drills, and even some titillating video of offensive shells with both Sean White and Jarrett Stidham tossing passes.

You can also check out Gus Malzahn’s post-practice press conference, with all the nuggets included here. Gus also talked a bit more about the quarterback competition between Stidham and White, noting that “there’s nothing better than competition”. I agree, Coach.

If you’d like to see some more tweets from the open media window during practice, and from Malzahn’s press conference with immediate reaction, you can check out our afterthoughts on some of the things that we learned yesterday.

Other than that, we know Auburn will practice again today with Kevin Steele getting the podium afterward. That’ll be excellent since there wasn’t too much in the way of news from the defensive side of the ball yesterday aside from the noted transfers and position changes.

Aside from football (I know, right), there actually was other news out of Auburn yesterday. The softball team received a huge boost with the clearance of Tannon Snow to return to the squad.

And in an all-around high five to the University itself, the Princeton Review (yeah, from Princeton) deemed that Auburn’s the school with the best athletic facilities in the country.

Kansas State was #2. They just can’t beat us in anything. Take that, Snyders.

We’ll have reaction from practice later tonight, so stick around!
