Coach Gus Malzahn met the press at the end of Auburn’s third week of camp Saturday. He said the final scrimmage was focused on special teams. However, he also talked about his new starting quarterback Jarrett Stidham and singled out Wide Receiver Noah Igbinoghene and Defensiveback Jason Smith as having really come on during the last three weeks. In particular he called Smith a, “heat seeking missile.”
Malzahn said all of the injured defensive players are, “back in some capacity.” And he indicated the starting five offensive linemen will probably be named this week. And of course he took a look ahead at the Tigers September 2 season opener against Georgia Southern.
