News and notes from the Auburn corners of the Internet

BASEBALL

Keegan Thompson and Casey Mize made the Golden Spike Watch List. Mize has been near unhittable this season, and Keegan hasn't been far behind when he's healthy and on his game.

The Tigers are in Knoxville for a Thursday through Saturday series, so they'll begin play tonight. Here is the official site's preview of the game. Ours will be up around lunch.

BASKETBALL

AuburnUndercover had two articles yesterday on Bruce Pearl and his newest assistant coach. The first discusses how this has been a long time coming for Steven Pearl to be an actual on-court assistant coach. The next is a little more of an introspective piece on their relationship through basketball as Steven was growing up.

EQUESTRIAN

The NCEA Championships begin tomorrow in Waco, TX. It will run through Saturday as the Tigers look to defend their national title from last season.

GYMNASTICS

The team didn't make it to the gymnastics championships, but two individual Tigers will be taking part in the Individuals on Friday.

SOFTBALL

There are cracks showing in this year's Auburn Softball squad. Last night the Tigers beat Georgia State 6-3. That's a game that they would have easily run-ruled in the last two seasons.

FOOTBALL

WarRoom Eagle cut up the A-Day game. So, if you missed it, you can go back and watch it in 18 minutes! WarRoom Eagle is a national - or at least an Auburn - treasure.

So, Auburn hired a new off-field analyst yesterday. Another former coach from the 2004 team is headed back to the Plains, as Gorgeous Al Borges will return to Auburn as an offensive analyst.

If you want another name to look for in the Buck race as a pass rusher, then remember Tre' Threat. Threat signed with the Tigers last February and spent a lot of time on special teams in 2017. He had an excellent Spring.

More former Tiger news! It's news about Tre Mason and this is of the good variety. After a very unusual and tumultuous last season or two, Tre is working hard to get back into shape and get back to the NFL.

GENERAL

I don't really know what to file this under, so I made its own spot. Jerry Hinnen is being a bit of a sunshine pumper about Auburn sports in general and lays out his reasons why over at The War Eagle Reader.
