A Warhawk Hunt! (Auburn vs. Louisiana Monroe, Open Thread.)

War Eagle, everybody! Today, the Auburn Tigers will host the Louisiana Monroe Warhawks, in Jordan Hare Stadium. Auburn comes into this game even on the season, with a couple of wins and a couple of losses. A victory here would give the Tigers a winning record for the first time this fall. The Tigers have had their offensive struggles this fall, but things started to come together last week against LSU. Meanwhile, Louisiana Monroe’s problems have been stopping the run.

What the Tigers would like to do in this game is to get out to a fast start, work on fundamentals and problem areas for a half or so, then turn the game over to the bench. The Louisiana Monroe folks would like nothing better than to spoil Auburn’s homecoming, like they did Alabama’s, some nine years ago. Realistically, they would like to collect a big check and get out of Auburn without too many injuries.

It should finally begin to feel a bit like fall, this Saturday afternoon in Auburn. The high temperature should be in the upper 70s, with a mostly clear sky. There is no chance of rain. This game kicks off at 2:30 PM Central Time, and will be televised on the SEC Network.

As always, feel free to join in and enjoy this thread. I’ll be absent again this week on the thread, as duty calls at work. Grades will be ready Sunday, after I go over the game on the DVR. I should be back in the saddle for the MSU and Arkansas games! War Eagle, and happy Homecoming!
