Maybe the real playoff committee should reserve two spots for the two best teams in the SEC West and fill in the other two spots with the best of the rest.

Kevin Scarbinsky always interesting to read, is one of our favorite sports writers. I'm not saying Alabama and Auburn aren't marching toward both being in the playoff, which would of course follow the Mother of All Iron Bowls Part II. Just saying they haven't met the type of competition that would make it possible to predict. Auburn barely beat a fairly middle-to-bottom Big 12 team and Bama looked like baby genius against a near-the-bottom-of-the-pack Gators team. What have we learned from the start of the season, Auburn playing three games and Bama's four? Six of the seven collective opponents were unranked teams, excluding K-State, which was ranked 20th. Playing unranked teams can't tell us if our teams are good, but they can tell us if they are bad. What have we learned? Alabama and Auburn aren't bad. Thanks Y'all.
ReplyDeleteI agree, it is way too early in the season
