Tigers add some secondary help on signing day
Despite Auburn not currently employing a head football coach there were rumors the Tigers might add some new faces to the class. One name highlighted was long time Louisiana Tech commit 3-star Armani Diamond.
Diamond had flown under the radar much of this cycle, a casualty of the visit suspensions by the NCAA. But he had a chance to showcase his ability at the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game and was widely regarded as the 2nd best DB behind 5-star Ga’Quincy McKinstry. No one pulled down more interceptions throughout the week than Diamond and Auburn noticed.
Today the Tigers offered and he committed.

Scouting Report
Diamond is an instinctive player who excels at being at the right place at the right time. Hips are such an important part of playing corner, being able to flip them and change directions. Diamond demonstrates the consistent ability to get his hips turn and stay stuck to his wide receiver. He also has good speed and the frame to grow into an SEC cornerback. Signing day additions have tended to go well for the Tigers, we’ll see if Diamond can follow in the footsteps of Tyrone Truesdell, Daniel Thomas and Boobee Whitlow
