As for the SEC, here are some quick thoughts on everyone except Auburn.

ARKANSAS: Oh cool, they don’t look terrible and we have to deal with them next week. For real, Sam Pittman seems to have found a way to motivate this group even if they aren’t really skilled yet.

ALABAMA: Annoyingly good still. We’ll have a hell of a time in Tuscaloosa. Mac Jones showed that the team was always about the danger of the skill players, who filled right in after losing Jeudy and Ruggs.

FLORIDA: Offense = good, defense = Saban tin horn metaphor. Georgia’s going to run right through them, and Tennessee probably will too.

GEORGIA: Like Alabama, it’s about the rest of the team, not the QB. Too many dudes at every position, and it seems like Kirby’s made it his mission to dominate us. He’s winning.

KENTUCKY: Thank you for making our opening win look bad. They’re just a tough team, but not especially skilled.

LSU: I mean, it was Vanderbilt, but they still didn’t really light it up. The defense bounced back after last week (and allowing 38 points to the Dores last year), and maybe Brennan got into a bit of a rhythm. Still, need to show something against a real opponent.

MISSISSIPPI STATE: In case you weren’t aware, Mike Leach had the habit of losing these kinds of games when he was at Washington State. He can beat anyone, and lost to anyone. Expectations are now tempered after last weekend, but they’ll still be annoying when you play them.

MISSOURI: They’ve had the misfortune of going against two much more physical teams the first two weeks. Drinkwitz has a long way to go in getting this team up to an SEC standard.

OLE MISS: Lane Kiffin, baby. He’s going to be fun to watch coaching, and he’s going to beat some teams he shouldn’t this year. Even with a porous defense, that offense will keep them in games for the most part.

SOUTH CAROLINA: Muschamp is just a little bit too old school for the SEC. He’s unable to bring it up tempo and play the kind of offense needed in this league, and the Gamecocks still need another weapon to complement Shi Smith.

TENNESSEE: I think they may be the second best team in the East. I know Florida’s offense is impressive, but Tennessee’s going to run right through them and do it with 1990s football.

TEXAS A&M: If you thought we had it bad, imagine trying to figure out how to raise $40 million to fire Gus. That’s what A&M is looking at with that pitiful performance in Tuscaloosa yesterday. Kellen Mond has made no strides, and the defense can’t stop anyone with any talent.

VANDERBILT: Last alphabetically, and last in our hearts. Vandy is just bad, they try hard, but this will likely be a winless team in 2020.
