Auburn In The Pros: Football WEEK 1

FOOTBALL IS BACK!!!!

IT’S FOOTBALL TIME!

Maybe it’s just me, but every time we get to the beginning of football season, that’s the song that comes to mind for me:

As a casual NFL fan, I was looking for a way to get myself excited for the NFL season. Last season, I began keeping track of former Auburn Tigers playing Professional Basketball. I’ve enjoyed that so much that this fall, while I wait for basketball’s eventual return to take my #AuburnInThePros series to the next level and begin following the professional careers of former Auburn Tigers playing in the NFL.

This will be quite the task for me but my goal is to provide a recap each Tuesday of how all of our former Tigers fared on Sundays (or Thursdays/Mondays).

As of this writing, there are 25 players, across 16 teams, who made their respective teams 53-man roster. Another 7 players are on practice squads.

2 teams lead the way with three former Tigers each on their roster: the New England Patriots and the Cincinnati Bengals.

Here is the schedule of games this weekend with Auburn players participating in them:

Chargers at Bengals - C.J. Uzomah, Carl Lawson, Josh Bynes (CIN)

Cardinals at 49ers - Dee Ford (SF)

Buccaneers at Saints - Carlton Davis, Jamel Dean (TB)

Monday - 6:10

Steelers at Giants - Darius Slayton, Chad Slade (NYG)
