Tigers stay hot on the trail
Last week, I wrote that the coming days could be busy for the Tigers on the trail. On Friday, things got started when 4-star WR Malcolm Johnson Jr announced his commitment to the Tigers. Making it a double boom he also announced that he will be enrolling this semester and eligible to play this fall.
Today, things continued with a bit of a surprise. This afternoon, one of the top JUCO corners in the country, Kamal Hadden, announced on Twitter a decision was coming today. A couple of hours later Hadden went public. He will be an Auburn Tiger.
ITS UP THERE COMMITTED thank you for everything @CoachCParker man truly appreciate you but we not done! LETS WORK @AuburnFootball @CoachGusMalzahn @coachcrimedawg pic.twitter.com/iJbyLtwQ5J

In August, Hadden dropped a top 7 featuring a wide range of programs including Auburn, Kentucky, Nebraska, Texas Tech, UCF, Washington State and West Virginia. Auburn though was always believed to be one of the top contenders along with the Wildcats. In the end, the opportunity to make an instant impact on one of the best defenses in the country was too hard for Hadden to pass up.
Highlights
Scouting Report
Hadden is a lanky, physical corner with fluid hips and a knack for making big plays. He forced 3 fumbles last fall while also picking off another pass. Unafraid to get involved in the run game, Hadden is a solid tackler with the skillset to see immediate time for the Tigers. Auburn’s CB depth is looking a little light these days and it could get even lighter if Roger McCreary elects to leave early. Hadden gives Kevin Steele and Wesley McGriff an instant impact player at an important position of need next fall.
The Class
After going a month without a single commitment, Auburn has snagged 4 pledges this month and don’t look likely to slow down soon. This Friday, 4-star S Ahmari Harvey is expected to announce his decision and Auburn is the overwhelming favorite. Buzz continues to grow 5-star CB Ga’Quincy McKinstry could have a decision soon which might mean good news for the Tigers. And while 3-star CB Kamari Lassiter has pushed back his decision for now he’s still a name to monitor moving forward. Bottom line, Auburn has once caught fire on the recruiting trail.
