The NFC South is gonna be a scary place for QBs next season.
After a historic Thursday evening where two Auburn defenders went in the first round for the first time ever, Friday night proved not to be as busy as expected but still a big moment for a former Auburn great.
It took a little longer than I expected but Marlon Davidson finally heard his name called Friday evening when the Atlanta Falcons selected him at #47 overall. It was a long time coming for the four year starter who stepped on campus as a true freshman ready to make big plays. He decided to come back for his senior season in 2019 and made the most of it.

Part of the reason Davidson came back was to fulfill a promise to his later mother to get his degree. He kept that promise and is now ready to go make some much deserved big time money.
Marlon Davidson pouring his love out for his late mother on this #Falcons call. “She will always be my Queen.” For those of you who haven’t been blessed to know him yet, you will LOVE him. #RiseUp

Oh and that rivalry between Brown and Davidson to get the most sacks is about to hit a new level as the two former roommates are now division foes. Unsurprisingly, Davidson was the first to deliver a public shot.
“It’s time for Derrick to lose. We’re not on the same team no more.’’ Marlon Davidson on Auburn’s Derrick Brown going to Carolina.

Gonna be cheering for some sack fests when the Panthers and Falcons face off.
Unfortunately, Davidson was the only Auburn Tiger to hear his name called Friday night. Prince Tega Wanogho had been projected to possibly go late in the 3rd round but the call never came. However, I doubt he stays on the board long this afternoon.
It could also be a big day for former Tigers Jack Driscoll, Nick Coe, Javaris Davis, Jeremiah Dinson, Daniel Thomas and Arryn Siposs. At a minimum, I expect all to land on an NFL roster whether that’s via the draft or free agency. The Tigers need four more selections to set a school record for players selected in the NFL Draft. The final four rounds take place this afternoon starting at 11 CT.
Congrats Marlon! War Eagle!
