Tigers Lose 2021 QB Commit

While Auburn basketball was rallying once again on the road last night, Auburn lost their QB of next year’s class.

Like most Auburn fans, my attention last night was squarely on what was happening in Bud Walton Arena where Bruce Pearl’s resilient bunch once again rallied late to take down a top SEC opponent. While that was happening, some pretty big news dropped for the 2021 class.

4* QB Aaron McLaughlin committed to Auburn last July. However, a lot has changed since that pledge, namely the hiring of Chad Morris. This is likely a mutual parting of ways with Morris having other QB targets higher on the board and McLaughlin wanting to explore what other options might be out there.

McLaughlin’s a talented player but I was always a little concerned about system fit. He’s got all the tools though to be really good at the next level so it won’t surprise me if he lands at another top program and ends up ranked pretty high. As for what QBs Auburn might pursue instead, keep an eye on 4* Miller Moss, 4* Dematrius Davis, 4* Ty Keyes, and 3* Will Crowder. We will see who makes it to campus in the coming days.

War Eagle!
