Today is the first of several days where we’ll get to appreciate one of Auburn’s greatest Point Guards!
Today, we are exactly SEVEN weeks away from Auburn tipping off with Georgia Southern. At #49 on our list, we get to appreciate former Auburn and current Phoenix Suns Point Guard Jared Harper. Trust me, this won’t be the only time you see Jared on this list.

This is one of those games that I look back and being the most mad about at the end of last season. Go back and watch the last minute of this game and you’ll see exactly what I’m talking about. There was a couple of 3-point attempts where Jared was clearly fouled and no call was made. That’s how it goes sometimes.
Anyways, Harper was 7-11 from the field in this game, including 5-8 from 3-point range. He made all 6 of his free throws and also had 8 assists and 6 rebounds in this game. Auburn led by as much as 16 in this game which was spearheaded by 12 straight points from Harper, all on 3-pointers. All 4 3-pointers were made over a span of about 3:30 midway through the half. Auburn led 41-38 at halftime with Harper scoring 14 1st half points.
In the 2nd half, Harper did most of his scoring in the final 90 seconds of the game. Auburn was down 10 with about 3 minutes left when Harper put the team on his back, scoring 9 of the team’s last 13 points. Auburn cut the deficit to 1 in the final seconds but LSU was able to hang on for the win.
Tomorrow at #48, we’ll go back to 2015 and talk about a game that had one great scoring performance, but otherwise was a game to forget for Auburn.
