The Unofficial Official College and Magnolia Survivor Pool - v3.1

NCAA Football: Arkansas at Auburn John Reed-USA TODAY Sports

I’m back, baby.

Football is back! And what do we do with football? We compete and argue with our friends to see who knows the most about football. Attend any tailgate and try to prove me wrong.

We’re bringing back the Survivor Pool for year three. Last year, we had 36 people throw their hats in the ring, and AubieNova walked away the winner in the final week of the season.

For those who don’t know what a survivor pool is, let me walk you through it. In a generic survivor pool, you pick one game each week. If the team you pick loses, you’re done for the year. The last commenter standing wins!

Here are our site-specific rules:

  1. Once you have picked a team, you cannot pick that team again for the rest of the year.
  2. Only SEC teams can be picked.
  3. You can only pick a team that is playing a power-conference opponent. This is new from last year, when I only required them to play an FBS level team to be eligible.
  4. Picks will be solicited each week when I put out an article. Your picks must be made in the comments section before kickoff of THAT specific game. There are timestamps on the comments so I will be able to check this.

There are 14 weeks this season and 14 teams in the SEC. There are multiple P5 matchups in every week, but you may want to plan ahead to make sure you don’t run into a week where there are no eligible teams for you to pick!

Leave your picks in the comments below. Here are your options for Week 1. Teams in bold are eligible to be picked.

USC vs UNC - 2:30 (Charlotte, NC)

Alabama vs Duke - 2:30 (Atlanta, GA)

Auburn vs Oregon - 6:30 (Dallas, TX)

UGA @ Vanderbilt - 6:30
