War Eagle, baby!

As we continue our march to kickoff, we take a look at the top 100 recruits to sign with Auburn of all-time*. The rankings are based on 247’s composite recruit rankings, which unfortunately only date back to 2000.

THE RECRUIT

Quan Bray made his pledge to Auburn pretty clear during the 2011 Under-Armour All-American Game, and never wavered from his original intentions.

That happened just a few days before the Tigers won a national championship in Glendale, Arizona. Quan would come on board as one of the top receivers in the country, and he’d grow over the next four years on the Plains.

THE PLAYER

It took some time for Quan’s effectiveness to show on the playing field, as he caught just 31 passes for 187 yards over his first two seasons in 2011 and 2012, but the reappearance of Gus Malzahn in 2013 paid off for him.

Quan became a key part of the receiving group alongside Sammie Coates, Ricardo Louis, and Marcus Davis. He caught his first touchdown in the comeback win over Mississippi State, and added another in the frenetic win over Texas A&M in College Station.

In 2014, he added some special teams chops to his repertoire, as he returned two punts for touchdowns. His best game as a Tiger came against Louisiana Tech that season, where he caught 3 passes for 91 yards and 2 touchdowns, and returned 2 punts for 98 yards and a touchdown.

He became the first player to score a receiving, rushing, and punt return touchdown in the same season and was named 2nd team All-SEC as a return specialist by the coaches in 2014.

He was picked up by Indianapolis, where he spent three years as the primary kickoff and punt return man, but he was released with an injury settlement in late 2017. After two short stints with Houston and Buffalo, he went to play for the Birmingham Iron in the short-lived AAF, and now he’s on the roster for the Montreal Alouettes of the CFL for the next season.
