Deshaun Davis and Derrick Brown Named to Two All-SEC Teams

On Monday Auburn linebacker Deshaun Davis and defensive tackle Derrick Brown were named to the AP All-SEC Team. The two were also named today to the Coaches All-SEC Team.

Brown had 45 tackles, 3 1/2 half sacks and 9 1/2 tackles for a loss. He earned second-team honors. The junior could go pro after the Tigers’ bowl game against Purdue in the Music City Bowl December 28. Hopefully he will decide to return and anchor the D-line in 2019.

Davis’ first-team selection marked the first time in 13 years for an Auburn linebacker to be named All-SEC. The senior had 14 tackles for a loss. For his career he has 257 tackles with 107 coming this season which is the most for a Tiger linebacker since 2001.

Probably most important attribute Davis brought to the table was the impact he had on his fellow teammates. Players on both sides of the ball looked to him for leadership. He leaves big shoes to be fill.
