Blue Devils, Turkeys, and Elephants, Oh My

Auburn basketball almost pulled off an upset against the #1 Duke Blue Devils, losing by only 6 points. This is nothing of which to be ashamed. That, to me, was a great showing, and I feel that Bruce Pearl has the support of his team. Even being a part of this tournament is a testament to what Coach Pearl has accomplished at Auburn.

TET hopes everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving with family and friends. Black Friday is sandwiched between Jay’s annual Thanksgiving post and the Iron Bowl. We always enjoy Jay’s posts and the resulting comments. Black Friday is a time to shop. The Iron Bowl is the time to beat Alabama.

Ah, the Iron Bowl. At this point, Auburn enters Bryant-Denny Stadium as a 24-point underdog. Auburn has the talent to stay with Alabama and perhaps even pull off the upset, but the catalyst in the Iron Bowl will most probably come down to coaching and necessary adjustments. We can only wait and see what happens.

We will have an update on recruiting next week as the early signing period draws ever closer. Can Auburn retain some commits who have, in recent weeks, become a bit more uncertain?

Auburn is still working hard on four 5* and one 4* recruits, but I don’t believe head coach Gus Malzahn can sign all of these. I would like to see at least a couple, however.
Again, more in-depth analysis next week.

Until then…
