All 5 Commitments have now signed their National Letters of Intent
Today, Auburn Basketball announced that Isaac Okoro and Babatunde “Stretch” Akingbola had signed their National Letters of Intent, officially becoming members of the Auburn Basketball program beginning in the 2019 season. With Okoro and Akingbola officially on board, this means that all 5 commits to Bruce Pearl’s program are now signed.

Isaac Okoro is the headliner in this class for Bruce Pearl. A 6’5” shooting forward out of Powder Springs, Georgia, he was the top ranked recruit available out of Georgia next year before consensus #1 2020 prospect Anthony Edwards reclassified to the 2019 class. He’s has experience playing for Team USA and has a knack for being able to drive the ball into the paints and absorbs contact well. And he’s quite the dunker as well...

He is high school teammates with Auburn’s Top 2020 target Point Guard Sharife Cooper and Auburn’s final signee to next year’s class, Stretch Akingbola.

Akingbola was Bruce Pearl’s first commit to next year’s class back in January and the Tigers attempted to get Akingbola to reclassify to join Auburn this year but ultimately, he will join the Tigers next year. Akingbola is a great defender and shot-blocker and will join a frontcourt that will most likely have a much different look next year due to graduation and the NBA Draft.
With Okoro, Akingbola, along with Tyrell Jones, Jaylin Williams and Allen Flanigan, the Tigers have put together a Top 10 class for next season. Also, Memphis transfer Jamal Johnson will join the fold next season after sitting out this year due to transfer rules. The present and future of Auburn Basketball is extremely bright. War Eagle!
