Austin Wiley's availability for Auburn's season opener against South Alabama is up in the air.
Auburn coach Bruce Pearl said Wednesday at SEC Media Days in Mountain Brook that Wiley, who is dealing with a left foot injury, could potentially miss the Tigers' Nov. 6 opener at Auburn Arena--though he did not want to rule him out at this point.
Wiley has been dealing with the injury for a week and a half, and he is expected to miss a couple more weeks, Pearl said. Wiley has been in a walking boot, but it will be removed at the end of next week.
From there, Wiley will work his way back to full speed on the court.
Though Pearl is uncertain if Wiley will play in the opener, he anticipates the Tigers' big man will return early in the season in a worst-case scenario.
