Duke Williams earns another honor as CFL's leading receiver

After being named one of the CFL's top performers for the first month of the 2018 season, Edmonton Eskimos wide receiver D'haquille "Duke" Williams has now been named one of the Shaw CFL Top Performers of the Week for Week 5.

The former Auburn standout caught nine passes for 123 yards and a touchdown in the Eskimos' 16-15 victory over the Toronto Argonauts on Friday night to earn the honor, which also went to British Columbia Lions quarterback Travis Lulay and Calgary Stampeders defensive lineman Micah Johnson.

Williams' touchdown pass covered 11 yards, and he also had a 43-yard reception in the game.

After his fourth consecutive 100-yard game, Williams has caught 31 passes for 556 yards and three touchdowns this season. Williams has three more receptions and 170 more receiving yards than any other player in the CFL, and he's also tied for the league lead in touchdown receptions in 2018.

Edmonton has an open date during Week 6, which kicks off on Thursday night when the Saskatchewan Roughriders and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats square off. The Eskimos return to action on July 26, when they visit the Montreal Alouettes.
