Auburn basketball schedules home-and-home with North Carolina State

Auburn has scheduled a home-and-home series with North Carolina State, the program announced Wednesday afternoon.

The two-game series will begin next season, with Auburn traveling to Raleigh, N.C., to take on NC State at PNC Arena on Dec. 19. The return game will take place the following season at a date to be determined.

"We're really excited to start a series against such a storied program in NC State," Auburn coach Bruce Pearl said in a release. "I've known Kevin Keatts for a long time, and he's an outstanding young coach. For our players to go to Tobacco Road and play in Raleigh will be a great experience, and we're excited to have them come back the following year to Auburn Arena.

Auburn and NC State have played eight games all-time, with the Wolfpack winning five of those meetings. The two programs have met just once in the last 43 years, however -- a 60-58 NC State win during the 2009-10 season in Dayton, Ohio, on a neutral court.

The addition of NC State, an NCAA Tournament team this past season, Auburn adds another quality opponent to its nonconference slate for the 2018-19 season. The Tigers are already set to take part in the Maui Invitational, which will also include Arizona, Duke, Gonzaga, Illinois, Iowa State, San Diego State and Xavier.
