Auburn softball coasted to a pair of 9-0, five-inning shutouts in the first day of the Wilson/DeMarini Classic on Friday.
Justus Perry went a combined 4 for 5 with two doubles and four RBIs as No. 12 Tigers (19-2) defeated UNC-Wilmington and Western Carolina at Jane B. Moore Field for their 13th and 14th shutouts of the season.
The sophomore first baseman hit a bases-clearing double to start a six-run first inning for Auburn against UNC-Wilmington, with Courtney Shea and Morgan Podany each adding RBI singles.
In her first action in nearly two weeks since jamming her left thumb, KK Crocker hit a two-run single as the Tigers took a 9-0 lead after three.
Makayla Martin allowed two hits and struck out three over three innings of work.
Perry went 3 for 3 with and RBI and Kendall Veach, Courtney Shea, Casey McCrackin and Tannon Show all homered against Western Carolina.
Veach's two-run shot started a four-run frame in the second, with Taylon Snow adding an RBI triple and coming home on a single by Perry.
Auburn added three more in the fourth on a two-run home run by Shea and solo shot by McCrackin two batters later.
Kaylee Carlson (9-0) allowed three hits and a walk and struck out two over four innings and Ashlee Swindle pitched a perfect top of the fifth.
After Martin led off the bottom of the fifth with a pinch-hit triple, Tannon Snow hit a walk-off two-run homer.
Auburn returns to action with a doubleheader with Western Carolina and Western Illinois at 3 p.m. Saturday.
