A few Tigers were selected on day two of the MLB Draft today. P Keegan Thompson was selected by the Chicago Cubs with the 105th overall pick in the third round of the draft, and CF Jonah Todd was selected by the Los Angeles Angels with the 175th overall pick in the sixth round of the draft.

Thompson made the decision to return for his junior year at the conclusion of last season and also underwent Tommy John surgery, but his recovery was successful as was his 2017 season with the Tigers.

Thompson was 7-4 with a 2.41 ERA this past season as Auburn’s ace.

Todd arrived on the Plains last summer as a walk-on transfer from Marion Military Institute, and immediately made an impact for the Tigers this past season. The centerfielder batted .376 and was a second-team All-SEC selection.

Also drafted was an Auburn signee, P Evan Steele of Chipola Community College by the Kansas City Royals with the 73rd overall pick in the second round. Steele is one of Auburn’s highest rated signees, and it is unclear as of now whether he will sign with the Royals or choose to play college ball.
